He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Jackson Mathina and Freda Jo Tucker Mathina; his grandchild Kalilah Edwards; and his great grandchild Symphoni Williams. He is survived by: his wife Angela Nicole Mathina of Newbern, Tennessee; his children, Paxton Mathina of Decaturville, William "Jacob" Stephens of Scottsburg, Indiana, Susie Mathina (John) of Water Valley and Katie Mathina of Newbern, Tennessee; and his siblings, Jeffrey Mathina of Union City, Tennessee and Penny Wilson of Newbern. He is also survived by "PaPaw" to his six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Johnson-Williams Funeral Home (239 E Main St, Newbern, TN 38059).
