She was predeceased by: her husband W. B. Atkins; her grandson Dwayne Valentine; her great grandchild Evan Valentine; her parents, H. B. Walker and Dicie Walker; and her siblings, Ulyss Walker, Charles Richard Walker and Bonnie Lackey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Bonnie Valentine of Newport and Carolyn Black (Clayton) of Hartford; her grandson Jordan Black of Hartford; her sister Alpha Atkins of Bridgeton, NJ; and her family Gerlean Hembree. She is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews.
