Essie Lee Burgin Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Essie Lee Burgin (Newport, Tennessee), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 29, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Essie Lee may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Essie Lee touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Roy Burgin; and her parents, Rubin Mooneyham and Ider Mooneyham. She is survived by: her son Kenney Burgin; her daughter-in-law Megan Burgin; and her sister Shirley Willett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel (363 E Main St, Newport, TN 37821). A burial was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Payne Family Cemetery.
