We announce the death of Barbara Rose Anderson Carter in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, born in Marion, Virginia, who passed away on October 12, 2026, at the age of 68. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stephen Bethel Anderson and Catherine Annaflo Rotenberry Anderson; and her siblings, Patricia Ann Anderson Sexton, Stephen Bethel Anderson Jr., Margaret Jean Anderson Burdette and Gerald Nathan Anderson.
She is survived by: her husband William Thomas Carter; her children, Krista Anne Carter, Sarah Rose Gurley (Zach), Georgia and Christopher Nathan Carter; her grandchildren, Milo Anderson Gurley and Alice Rose Maxwell Gurley; and her friend Melody Scott.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (1350 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN 37830). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Anderson Hill Family Cemetery.
