With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Columbus Marable Jr. of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, born in Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on May 31, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Columbus departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Columbus may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Columbus leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his wife Almeda Marable; his brother Tommy O. Marable; and his sister-in-law Hatti Marable. He is survived by: his sister Lenadora Marable; and his nieces, Betty Jane Johnson and Priscilla Marable.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Roane Memorial Gardens (1400 N Gateway Ave, Rockwood, TN 37854).
