He was predeceased by: his grandmother Edna Bell Thurmer; his parents, Ned Adams Thurmer and Betty Mimms Minton; his brothers, John Allen Thurmer and Michael Wayne Thurmer; and his brother-in-law Doug Shepherd.
He is survived by: his wife Svitlana Thurmer; his children, Danita "Dee Dee" Ashley (Garry), Christy Thurmer Vann (James) and Jamie Dale Thurmer; his stepson Volodymyr Balashov (Lyudmyla); his sisters, Linda Shepherd (David) and Edna Shepherd; and the mother of his children Patricia Thurmer Kees. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home.
