He is survived by: his children, William "Bill" Burchfield of Maryville, TN and Gail Thompson of Maryville, TN; his girlfriend Edith McCall of Oak Ridge, TN; his sister Edith; his siblings-in-law, Bill Truitt of Waleska, GA and Betty Burchfield of Lake Wylie, SC.; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Burchfield (Drew Robinson), Ashley (Dustin Gillum), Michael (Hannah Thompson) and Maleah (Bunkie VanSkiver). He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
