It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Douglas J. Young (Oak Ridge, Tennessee), who passed away on November 2, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Douglas may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Douglas touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Joe" Young and Dolores "Dee" Young; his brother Marcus "Mark" Young; and his nephew Justin Young. He is survived by: his daughter Stacey Young of Nashville, TN; his granddaughter Kaylee Young of Nashville, TN; and his siblings, Valorie Hinds (Buddy) of Oak Ridge, TN, Barbara Wilkes of Alvardo, TX and Kenton Young (Katy Boyd) of Oak Ridge, TN. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Weatherford Mortuary (158 S Jefferson Cir, Oak Ridge, TN 37830). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
