We are sad to announce that on April 2, 2023, at the age of 67, Jim Wesley Horton (Oak Ridge, Tennessee) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lee Horton, Sr. and Emale Gattis Horton. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Horton; his children, Debra Horton Dillard (Ken) and Wes Horton (Keisha); his grandchildren, Trent, Rachel, Catherine and Drake; and his siblings, J. Lee Horton, Ann Horton and Tom Horton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to A Cure In Sight, a nonprofit organization that supports families of those who suffer from ocular melanoma and research for a cure at PO Box 58113 Raleigh, NC, 27658-8113 or acureinsight.org/donate.

I've only know Jim for the past 21 months when I met him through the Ocular Melanoma Virtual Support group that meets weekly. I found him to be very supportive and empathetic to everyone's condition. His wealth of knowledge of experimental treatments for this incurable disease was astounding, and he was very giving in sharing his knowledge. I will miss him greatly.
