He is survived by : his wife Jeanne Thompson Mitchell; his sons, John "Shon" Mitchell III and Christopher Mitchell (Aimee); his stepchildren, Steven Hall II (Amanda) and Hall Rader (Patrick); his grandchildren, William Ethan Mitchell, Christopher Corbin Mitchell, Anderson Mitchell, Kinsley Rader and Preston Rader; and his brother Robert Mitchell.
