He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Sweeden and Mary Dean Burleson Sweeden; and his sisters, Beverly Sweden and Emily Sammons. He is survived by: his wife Gail Stiner Sweeden; his sons, Michael Sweeden, Richard "Rick" Sweeden and John Sweeden; the mother of his children Carol Michaels; and his sister Alice Smith (Thom). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
