He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Wilson and Wava Jennett Compton (Lambert); his wife Margaret Milinda Compton (Byrd); his children, Jana Compton (Steve Perakis) of Corvallis, Derek Compton (Stacy) of Lake Stevens, Amy Horner (Rick) of Boise and Anne Wilkerson (Scott) of Denver, Colorado.; his grandchildren, Ashlee Hagen (Compton), Lane Compton, Sophia Perakis, Liam Wilkerson, Richard, Maddie and Wava Horner; his sister Susan Compton Carpenter (Joe); his sibling's children, Keri Carpenter and Timothy Carpenter; and his brothers-in-law, Alan Byrd (late Joann), Gary Byrd (Wanda), Randal Byrd (Stephanie) of Morganton and Colon Byrd (Markly) of Georgia.
