He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Stuart and Charlotte Elizabeth Steele (Alley). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Steele; his children, Robert Steele III (Helen), Rebecca Ringe (Gerry) and Susannah Steele-Weigel (David); his grandchildren, Alyxandra Tedder (Kyle), Myndara Steele, Kal Steele, Emma Ringe, Amanda Ringe, Logan Steele-Weigel, Lucy Steele-Weigel and Gabriella Steele-Weigel; his sisters, Sharyn Vaughn and Leigh Lehan; and his stepmother Cornelia Steele. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church (212 N Tulane Ave, Oak Ridge, TN 37830).
