Tina Utley Obituary

Tina Diane Utley departed this world on February 5, 2020, after losing her battle against a brief illness. Tina was a devoted and loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She never met a stranger.

She made everyone who knew her feel welcomed and accepted. Tina was a lover of animals, music, culture, people and the world. Tina was a generous soul who, even in her last act, thought of others and not herself, by being a registered organ donor.

She is survived by her beloved son, Jahkai James Hatcher, Jahkai's father, James Hatcher, and Jahkai's sister, Journey. She also leaves behind her sister and best friend, Tara Meade, her mother, Karen Jernigan, father Roger Utley, stepfather Greg Jernigan, grandparents Sue and Roy Utley, nephew Ryan Luke, soul sisters Cristy Cruse, Chauncey Samu, and Stephanie Slater, and countless special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She joins many loved ones in heaven.

Tina's family and friends are invited to celebrate her life with a brief service on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 2:00 PM at the large pavilion in Clark Center park in Oak Ridge, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tina's honor to the Oak Ridge animal shelter, the Alzheimers association, or any animal shelter, homeless shelter, or food bank. Those interested in contributing to an educational fund for Tina's son Jahkai may contact any family member privately.
