He was predeceased by: his parents, James K. Ryan and Margaret H. Greenlees Ryan. He is survived by: his wife Candace Ryan of Oakland, TN; his daughters, Shannon White (Ralph) of Oakland, TN, Jean Anne Norris of Oakland, TN and Margaret Ryan of Florence, KY; his siblings, Jean Ann Ryan (Howard Messing) of Beverly Hills, CA and James K. Ryan, Jr. (Chong) of Las Vegas, NV; his grandchildren, Michael Wheeler, Cara Wheeler, Sadie Norris and Chris Rochelle; and his great grandchildren, Winry McPherson and Elena Wheeler.
