Bill touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Family, friends, and colleagues extend their love and support during this time. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hughes and Freddie Mae Donaldson Hughes; and his sisters, Polly Jordan and Frances Greiner. He is survived by: his wife Mary Hughes of Oakland; his sons, Chris Hughes (Christy) of Collierville, Tim Hughes (Wendy) of Somerville and Robert Hughes (Lisa) of Memphis; and his brother Donnie Hughes (Nancy) of Somerville. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Bolivar (109 Mecklinburg Dr, Bolivar, TN 38008). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
