He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Phillips and Mammie Phillips; his siblings, Sally Langley, Alice Ferguson, Ina Lou Gonzales, Dolly Lambert, Christine Carroll, Terry, Oscar and Sam Phillips; his parents-in-law, Clifford and Martha Hall; his siblings-in-law, Faye Carroll, Stella Dison, Don and Danny Hall; and his son-in-law Chris Kelly.
He is survived by: his wife Merlene Hall Phillips; his children, James Phillips (Vickie), Jason Phillips (Shawna) and Diane Kelly; and his grandchildren, Tyler Phillips (Katie), Jacob Phillips (Kylie), Addison Phillips, Tabitha (Tyler), Katie Bowman (Johnathon), Gracie, Willy Goodboy, Paisley of Hadley, DJ, Andy, Rayne and Easton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sharp Funeral Home (209 Roane St, Oliver Springs, TN 37840). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church (1312 Cove Ln, Oliver Springs, TN 37840). A burial will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Indian Creek Cemetery (1312 Cove Ln, Oliver Springs, TN 37840).
