He was predeceased by : his parents, William Blaine and Ona Cross Burress; and his siblings, J. K. Burress, Mark Burress, Virginia'Opal'White and Linda Carano.

He is survived by : his siblings, Dewey Burress (Alice), William'Ike'Burress (Sandy), Gene Burress (Dorothy), Paul Burress (Marlene), Gerald Burress, Lee Short, Sue Yoder (Jim), Sharon Green, Lynn Burress, Euginia Burress and Geraldine Brewster. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.
