He was predeceased by : his parents, John W. Botts and Viola Duncan Botts; his daughter Kimberly Botts; his siblings, Leah Allen (Charlie Allen), Bernard Botts (Ruth) and Thurman Botts; his siblings-in-law, Dave Moore, Jackie, Gatchel, Paul, David Owens and Jodean Strunk; and also Viola.

He is survived by : his wife Frankie Kaye Owens Botts; his children, Tracy and John (Tracey); his granddaughters, Kayleigh Gibson (Andy) and Hannah Jewett (Josh); his great grandchildren, Aubrey Gibson and Oliver Jewett; his siblings, Jo Moore and Larry Botts (Valerie); his siblings-in-law, Theresa Duncan (Duanne), Katherine Owens (Rickie) and Bobby Owens; and his niece Patty McGowan (Stuart Owens). He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
