He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thompson and Bessie Thompson (Hunley); his wife Mazel Thompson; his sisters, Ruby Holman and Lela Compton; and his children-in-law, Kimberly Thompson and Richard Loomis.
He is survived by: his children, Joyce Loomis (Gary Dobbs), Susie Taylor (Rick) and Buster Thompson (Karen Aldredge); and his siblings, Velma Terry (Jennings), Delmar Thompson and Glenn Thompson (Glenna). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
