He was predeceased by: his parents, C. J. Thompson and Doris Thompson; his mother-in-law Billie Zachary; his brothers-in-law, Ernie Allen and Larry Pendergrass; his nephew Ashley Thompson; and his sisters-in-law, Theresa Chambers and Cheryl Branim.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeremy Thompson (Kari) of Knoxville, TN and Josh Thompson (Jodi) of Oneida, TN; his niece Trish Brewster; his grandchildren, Riley, Braden, Lauren, Noah Thompson and Logan (Kristin); his great grandchildren, Cason, Reece, Briggs and Craye; his granddaughter Kayla Potter (Jordan); his great grandchildren, Trace, Jenson and Deacon; his wife Debbie Thompson; his siblings, Jack Lay (Sharon), Roger Thompson (Lucille) and Tammy Wright (John); his siblings-in-law, Pam Botts (James), Sandy Wright (Roger), Melinda Pike, Beverly Pendergrass and Donnie Branim; and his close friends, Lou Stanley, Charlie Terry, Eugene Harmon, Gary Boyatt, Roger Baldwin and Kermit Carson.
