He was predeceased by: his wife Rona Carlos Echerd; and his father John Echerd. He is survived by: his daughter Laura Slayton (Brooks); his grandson Griffin Slayton; his mother Kathryn Echerd; and his siblings, Cynda Holmes and Amy Fowler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Reflection Riding, or Gentiva Hospice.
