He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Smith, Sr. and Leona V. Donaldson Smith; his wife Sue Smith; his son Randall Smith; his brothers, Melvin and Don Smith; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Miller and Teddy Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Susan LeQuire (Frank); his grandsons, Justin Smith (Jessica) and Matt LeQuire (Angel); his great grandchildren, Ansley and Julian Smith; and his sisters-in-law, Phyllis Miller, Marylynn "Sis" Smith and Sandy Weeks (Paul). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
