She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Ruth Peters and Clyde Augustus Peters; her husband William Winfrey Thompson; her son Joshua Elijah Dickey; her grandson Noah Robert Payton; and her brothers, Terry Peters and Art "Buddy" Peters.
She is survived by: her daughter Shannon Payton (Terry); her grandchildren, Destiny McNabb (Corey) and Gabriel Payton; and her great grandchild Everleigh McNabb. She is also survived by other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home (833 Chickamauga Ave, Rossville, GA 30741).
