He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Thompson and Annie Thompson; his son Joshua Elijah Dickey; and his grandson Noah Robert Payton. He is survived by : his wife Janet Thompson; his children, William "Bill" Boyd Thompson and Shannon Payton (Terry); and his grandchildren, Destiny McNabb (Corey), Gabriel "Gabe" Payton, Randi Holland and Bryan Willis.
