She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Parks and Thelma Hickman Parks; her husband Howard Wayne McDermith; her daughter Cherly Priest; and her siblings, Valaria Martin (Cliff) and Bob Parks (Teresa).
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Shonkwiler (Jeff) of Bement, Lori Taylor (Morgan) of Paris, Christie Paul (David) of St. Joseph, Illinois, Ronald McDermith (Carol) of Paris, Dennis McDermith of Como and Richard McDermith (Paula) of Monticello, Illinois. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
