He was predeceased by: his parents, Ava Edward Townsend and Evelyn Ruth Kirk Townsend; his stepmother Virginia Coleman Townsend; and his siblings, Kirk Townsend and Cindy Townsend.
He is survived by: his wife Melanie Bivens Townsend; his nephew Dr. Joshua Coleman (Erin) of Paris, TN; his granddaughter Eva Coleman; his sisters, Judy Varner of Paris, TN and Janice Fowler (Tom) of Little Rock, AR; his nieces and nephews, Cindy Allbritten (Vance) of Paducah, KY, Dr. Amy Varner of Marietta, GA, Kelly Shaffer, Madison Dennis, Robby Midyett and Cameron Midyett; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Emily Allbritten, Madalyn Valenzuela, June Dennis, Nate Allbritten, Joshua Allbritten, Evan Allbritten and Matthew Valenzuela.
