He was predeceased by : his parent Dean Edward Hughes; his daughter Becky Story; and his brothers, Lowell Hughes and Clarence Ray Hughes. He is survived by : his mother Gertie Elldora Kidd Hughes of Parsons, TN; his children, Steven Story (Loretta) of Jackson, TN, Tim Hughes (Lauren) of Newport, KY and Vickie Beecher of Cullman, AL.; and his siblings, Dean Edward Hughes Jr. (Lisa) of Port St, Deana Granger (Elmer) of Jackson, TN, Annette Ford (Glen) of Lexington, TN, Wanda Starrett of Parsons, TN and Marsha Alioe.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Oakdale Funeral Home - Decatur County (2544 Tennessee Ave N, Parsons, TN 38363).
