He was predeceased by : his parents, Taylor Hester and Viola Runion Hester; and his siblings, James Hester and Juanita Roy. He is survived by : his daughter Savannah Berryhill (T. W.); his grandchildren, Thomas Berryhill (Amy), Shawn Berryhill, Jacob Hester (Holly), Matthew Berryhill, Paisley Link, Milika Kelso, Cason Kelley and Adam Austerman; the mother of his children Martha Hester of Philadelphia; and his sister Mildred Standridge of Decatur. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
