He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse L. Hicks and Dorothy E. Hicks. He is survived by: his son Joseph Lee Hicks; his siblings, Carol Y. Miele and H. Michael Hicks (Molly); and his siblings' children, Michael D. Hicks, Jonathan Miele, Kristen Fowler and Erin Huss.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lynnhurst Cemetery (2300 Adair Dr, Knoxville, TN 37918).
