We announce the death of Claude Phillip Smith Jr. of Pikeville, Tennessee, who passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 78. Claude will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy Smith; his daughter Donna Gail Smith; his parents, Claude Phillip, Sr. and Ruth Brock Smith; and his brother Eddie Clyde Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Billy Smith (Nicole) and Tracie Yother (Jason); his grandchildren, Haylyn, Matthew, Hannah and Harper; and his sisters, Brenda Brandt (Lonnie) and Mary Frances Christian. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The military honors will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel (39299 TN-30, Pikeville, TN 37367).
