He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Giles, Angie Simmons Blankenship, Thomas and Myrtle Nail VanWinkle; his parents, James VanWinkle and Louise Blankenship VanWinkle; and his brother-in-law Steve Bickford.
He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Kennedy VanWinkle of Pikeville, TN; his son Waylon VanWinkle of Pikeville, TN; and his sister Sharon VanWinkle Bickford. He is also survived by two nephews; and one niece.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Putnam Reed Funeral Home (1171 Main St, Pikeville, TN 37367). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
