He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Smith Thurman; his children, Randy Thurman (Nancy), Sandra Angel and Carol Hankins (Randell); his grandsons, Jonathan Thurman (Samantha), Joshua Burgess (Susie), Justin Burgess (Ashley), James Hankins (Lacey), Jarrod Thurman, Joe Thurman, Troy Hanna (Amber) and Tommy Hanna; his great grandchildren, Rebecca Thurman (Scott), Taylor Thurman (Allie), Sydney Thurman (CJ), Savannah Thurman, Lain Burgess (Alexis), Storm Bledsoe (Hudson), Star Burgess, Noah Burgess, Colten Wood, Dana Wood, Tristan Hanna (Sara), Corbin Moore, Holly Moore (Laken), Logan, Sam and Gabby Richardson (Dustin); and his great great grandchildren, Blair Thurman, Gunner Thurman, Lennon Alnutt, Barrett Bledsoe, Adeline Burgess and Nova Richardson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Pikeville Funeral Home (39299 TN-30, Pikeville, TN 37367). A celebration of life was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel (39299 TN-30, Pikeville, TN 37367).
