He was predeceased by: his wife Jo Anna Kleist Cross; his parents, Floyd Ernest and Norma Hope Higbee Cross; his son Shawn Cross; and his brothers, Richard and Jack Cross.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick (Carol) and Laurie Cross; his grandson Scott Lee Cross; and his sister Elaine Watts.
