He was predeceased by : his wife Carolyn Sue Hayes; his parents, Johnny Hayes and Susan Hayes; and his siblings, Leon, Travis, Lawrence, Steve Hayes, Shirley Morgan and Mary Hayes.

He is survived by : his sons, Jaime Hayes (Kendell), Joshua Hayes and Adam Hayes; his grandchildren, Braden and Bethany Hayes; and his brother Larry Hayes (Rose). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
