It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas McArthur Lawson of Piney Flats, Tennessee, born in Norton, Virginia, who passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Ed Lawson and Gertrude Lawson; and his siblings, Eula Fields, Beula Belcher, Elizabeth Roland, Billie Tester, Bea Lawson, Loraine Willis and Curtis Lawson.
He is survived by : his wife Sandy Lawson; his sons, Christopher (Sherri) of Kingsport, TN and Douglas E. (Heidi) of Fenton, Delaware; his stepchildren, Michele Kuhn (Jeff) of Washington, D. C. and Michael Baker (Elsa) of Edgewater, Maryland; his brother Grant Lawson (Dianne) of Beulahville; his grandchildren, Steph, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jonathan, Scott and Audrey; and his great grandchildren, Arianna and Phoenix.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Ballad Health Hospice House or The American Cancer Society, continuing Doug's legacy of compassion and generosity in supporting others in need.
