He was predeceased by: his parents, George Cooksey Batson and Lora Fowler Batson; his siblings, Lillie Cooksey, Dr. Beatrice Batson, Ida Batson, Sara Rice, Cooksey Batson and Jesse Dewey Batson; and his son Joe Claytor.
He is survived by: his brother Robert Batson of Ashland City; his children, Beth Batson (Steve) of Pleasant View, Sterling Claytor (Leah) of Springfield and Kim Engelman (John) of Nolensville; and his wife Nancy. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cheatham County Funeral Home (117 Elizabeth St, Ashland City, TN 37015). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home (117 Elizabeth St, Ashland City, TN 37015).
