He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Gregory and Bertha Denney Gregory (Denney); and his siblings, Stephen Gregory, Buford Gregory, Roy Gregory, Bill Gregory and Mildred Zuerlien.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Gammon Gregory; his sons, Barlow Gregory (Shelia) and Mark Gregory (Lisa); his siblings, Wallace Gregory (Frances) and Faye Caldwell (Jimmy); his sister-in-law Pauline Gregory; his grandchildren, Chance Gregory (Christina), Ryan Gregory, Heather Gross (Matt), Jessalyn Maddux (Aaron), Caitlin Gregory and Logan Hodges; and his great grandchildren, Luke, Phoenix, Jacob, Maddie, Kylan and Tucker. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, James requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
