He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Hammock and Vangielyn Graves Scruggs; his wife Ruby Dillard Hammock; his son Terry Hammock; his granddaughter Brooke Clayton; and his sister Sandy Haycraft.
He is survived by: his daughter Tammy Clayton (Dave); his grandchildren, DJ Garrett (Tony) and Josh Clayton (Chelsey); his great grandchildren, Sage, Skylar Garrett, Andrew and Wyatt Clayton; and his siblings, Rosemary Wix (Jerry), JoAnn Braswell, Kathy West and Roger Hammock. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Woodard Funeral Home (5591 US-31E, Westmoreland, TN 37186). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
