The memory of Vernon Eugene Tabor Sr. of Portland, Tennessee, who passed away on July 19, 2025 at the age of 86, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Festus Otto Tabor and Mildred Marie Parsons Tabor; his wife June Elizabeth Renick Tabor; his children, Vernon Tabor, Jr. and Karen Tabor Horton; and his brother Jim Tabor.
He is survived by: his daughter Sharon Tabor Cheek (Stephen) of Scottsville, KY; his daughter-in-law Gail Tabor of Scottsville, KY; his siblings, Don Tabor (Nancy) of Wentzville, MO, Rich Tabor (Mary Lou) of Lebanon, MO and Linda Schiele; and his grandchildren, Michelle Pruitt (Rob), Susan Smith (James), Brad Tabor (Lori), Holly Webb (Alex), Cody Cheek (Morgan) and Cain Cheek (Veronica). He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Goad Funeral Home (215 W Main St, Scottsville, KY 42164). A masonic service was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
