She was predeceased by: her parents, William Curtis Young, Sr. and Linnie Frances Massengill Young; her daughter Michelle Renee McCool; and her sister Dorthy Louise Young Brooks. She is survived by: her husband Gary McCool, Sr.; her children, Frances (Michael Warchol), Rebekah Briggs, William (Buffey Briggs) and Curtis (Bre Briggs); her grandchildren, Hayden, Miesha Briggs, Kami, Joseph Perez, Sydny, Drew Flanary, Paige Briggs, Mary, Jeremy Perez, Haley and Kevin Caudill; her great grandchildren, Avie-Lee, Theodora-Jane, Emery-Drew, Harlin-Bohannon, Santiago Elias, Emelia Genevieve, Ruby Wren, Sutton Reiley, Copper and Neiland; and her siblings, William Curtis Young, Jr., Simeon Lemuel Young, Sr., Francis "Frank" Lynell, Nathanael Lee Young, Sr. and Martha Grace Young Harper. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Apostolic Church (5020 Pleasant Ridge Rd, Knoxville, TN 37912). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Bell's Campground Cemetery (7920 Bell Campground Rd, Powell, TN 37849).
