The family announces the passing of Larry Thomas Phillips of Powell, Tennessee on October 25, 2026. Larry, born on August 29, 1949, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Larry will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Larry by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Larry is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Larry’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Phillips, Jr. and Opal Elaine Dew. He is survived by: his daughter Lauren E. Parks (Matt); his sisters, Betty C. Phillips (Tom Brown) and Karen S. Hutchison (Bob); and his close friend Jenny. He is also survived by several nieces and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM and at 12:30 PM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920).
In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made in Larry's honor to either the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org) or Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley.
