He was predeceased by: his father Esco E. Burress; and his stepfather Gregory Roettger. He is survived by: his mother Juanita Wright Burress; his sisters, Kathy Burress Pemberton (Bill) and Sheree Long (Walter); and his nieces and nephews, Stephanie Brock, Nicole Turner, Mack Miller, Gary Miller and Chance Long. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, and special friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
