He was predeceased by: his parents, Learlene Gentry and Robert L. Gentry; and his siblings, Thomas Gentry and Sallie Ruth Black. He is survived by: his wife Marva Gentry; his children, Kay McNairy, Frank Gentry (Lori), Kenny Gentry, Fredrick Gentry (Crystal), William "Jody" Gentry (Lea) and Tasha Coleman (Solomon); and his siblings, L. B. Gentry (late Betty), Robert Gentry (Sherry), Linda Reynolds (Waymon) and Alcyorn "Penny" White (John Wade). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory (1910 Elkton Pike, Pulaski, TN 38478). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
