He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Ervin and Florence Cozart Ervin; his sons, Brownie Keith Ervin and Kelvin Wayne Ervin; and his siblings, Claudie Ervin, Bobby Ervin, Wilburn "Pig" Ervin, Clyde Ervin and Betty Cheek.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Ervin; his son Travis Ervin (Holly); his sisters, Eleanor Rupert, Lula Crigger (Jack) and Dot Young; his grandchildren, Felicia Ervin, Jonathan Ervin (Sarah), Kaitlyn Hurkes (Murphy), Katelyn Plentz and Autumn Sherrette; and his great grandchildren, Matthew Ragsdale, Noah Ragsdale, Rebekah Ragsdale, Elijah Fitzgerald, Lily Naugle and Andrew Naugle.
