She was predeceased by: her husband Henry Sims; her mother Ara Walls; her brother Victor Battle; her stepson Derrick Coffey (Benita); her stepgrandchildren, Raven, Dede, Breanna and Keaton; her nieces and nephews, Bonnie Coleman, Belinda McNealey Victor Aaron (Donnie), Mary Pearl Carter and Arvis Sims (Sharon); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Monique, Briana, Donnie, Ricky, Aran, Tre, Nicholas and Victor A. Poindexter II Veronica (Sandra); and also, Carter, Dejah, Victor A. Poindexter III and Julien.
She is survived by: her close friend Carolyn Abernathy. She is also survived by extended family and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Greater Richland Creek Missonary Baptist Association Central Building (1095 Bledsoe Rd, Pulaski, TN 38478).
