He was predeceased by: his father James R. Staggs; and his grandparents, Richard, Nell Staggs, Faye McCurry Holt and James Robert McCurry.

He is survived by: his wife Katie Staggs; his daughters, Savannah of Puryear, Sophie of Puryear and Scarlett Staggs of Puryear; his siblings, Jessica Hasting (Jared) of Giles County, TN, Matthew "Matt" Staggs (Alex) of Lake Wales, FL and Christopher "Bubba" Staggs (Samantha Simpson) of Iron City; his siblings' children, Mason Wilkerson, Gideon Hasting, Braylyn Staggs, Hayden Simpson and Issac Staggs; his grandfather Raymond Holt; and also, Doug and Beth Taylor.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McEvoy Funeral Home (507 W Washington St, Paris, TN 38242). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
