He was predeceased by: his parents, Naomi Jennings Newport and Nathaniel Newport; his grandparents, Mary Elizabeth and Thalbert Jennings; his sisters, Jane Griffin and Teresa Smith; and his parents-in-law, Marshall and Sheila Bertram.
He is survived by: his wife Wendy Sue Bertram Walker; his children, Erika, Katurah, Madison and Wyatt; his siblings, Larry Walker (Cindy), Kevin Newport (Janetta), Michael Newport (Zelma), Geraldine Brown, Phyllis Turner Deborah (Keith Massengale) and Virginia Turner; his siblings-in-law, Jack Bertram (Shawna), Mark Bertram and Jill Damron (Keenan); his caregiver Brenda Smith; and his son Bro. David Walker. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Jones & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home.
