He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Clyde "Doty" Simpson and Roberta Speegle Simpson; his sister Roetta Simpson Howerton; and his son-in-law Jarrett Dingus. He is survived by: his wife Mary E. Simpson; his daughter Cindy Simpson of Seymour; his grandson Jacob Dingus of Seymour; his nephew John Howerton (Tera) of Morristown; his great-nephews, John and Joshua; and his siblings-in-law, Jay Howerton of Rogersville, Joann, Charles Thomas, Robert, Terri Isenberg, Sue and Tony Ladd.
