He was predeceased by: his parents, J. M. Carpenter and Jacqueline Pearson Carpenter; and his brothers-in-law, Randy Carver and Jimmy "Jap" Hamblen. He is survived by: his sisters, Rhonda Carver of Rogersville and Anita Hamblen of Surgoinsville; his nieces and nephews, Stephanie Hamblen (Shawn Bailey) and Ryan Lewis (Chuck Burchfield); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Emilee Swatzell, Kianna Pintze and Cayden Self; and his pet Sam.
